The first stage is one of the most important parts of the filter system as it acts as a prefilter removing excess food and plant particles thus protecting the rest of the filter from clogging.
We recommend the JUWEL filter wool pad be changed on a weekly basis. If you have large fish, then this may require changing slightly more frequently.
