Elodea densa. Your fish can breathe easier with Elodea densa, the best of the oxygenating plants.
Known for its bright green colour and leafy stems, Elodea Densa, also known as Egeria Densa or Anacharis, is a trouble free aquarium plant. It will grow, floating or anchored, rapidly as long as the ambient conditions are suitable.
As it is an excellent oxygenating plant, it is perfect for freshwater aquariums and for the classroom. It is effective user of bicarbonate and its growth will undoubtedly be boosted by the presence of CO2, and the Elodea Densa is perfect for demonstrating the oxygen production of an aquatic plant during photosynthesis.
This plant is also great for decorating your tank and camouflaging tank equipment, as well as providing a haven for newly hatched fish.
It should be noted that algae eating fish will eat this plant.
To cultivate more plants, simply sever the top section of the stem and then replant. In floating plants, cut the lateral shoots from the main stem and then replant. In summer this plant can produce a small white, three petal flower.
Dispose of cuttings carefully – this plant is invasive.
