In order to activate the action movement of this air ornament you need the following:
- an air pump
- tubing
- non return valve
- controller
If the air pump sits above the water level a non return valve is not needed. If the air pump sits below the water level we recommend you use a non return valve so that in the event of a power cut, water does not siphon back through the air tubing and out of the tank.
Air pumps come in different qualities. More often the more expensive ones are quieter and better built.
To set this up first thing to do is place your air pump wherever you have chosen to situate it. Measure from there to the top of the aquarium. Cut the air tubing at this point. Fit the non return valve. I suggest that at this point you fit another small piece of tubing, say 2″, and then attach the air controller or, if the pump is powerful enough, multiple air controllers for multiple air ornaments. Air tubing can then be connected from the controller to the air ornament. You can the adjust the control valve to get the desired air output from the ornament
