How to Prepare

Using the scoop provided, add 31g (7 level scoops) to 100ml of warm water (42°C, allow boiled water to cool first) and stir until fully dissolved. Allow to cool to lukewarm (38°C, blood temperature) before feeding. Use clean, sterile feeding equipment such as the Beaphar Lactol Feeding Set or Feeding Syringes. Prepared milk can be refrigerated for 24 hours; reheat to 38°C before feeding young animals. 1 litre of prepared milk contains approximately 1250 kcal.

Feeding Guide

Weigh young kittens daily to check their growth. Split the daily volume across the recommended number of feeds.

From day 36, slowly move on to a more solid kitten food. Mix prepared Lactol with a little kitten food, gradually reducing the milk and increasing the solid food each day.

Complementary feeding: kittens under 6 weeks still with their mother, up to 40ml per kg a day. Weaned or weaning kittens over 6 weeks, pregnant or lactating queens, and sick or convalescing cats, 13ml per kg a day. Always keep fresh drinking water available.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from light, in the original container, tightly closed. For best results use within 3 months of opening.
